Power

The first image I created for the "Town Square Gallery" showing. This piece is inspired by a scene from my novel in which Sanguine finds Claudra's red stallion at sunset. The scene is supposed to be in the forest. The horse turns toward her and the sun, gleaming off his eye, freaks her out. I had painted the scene once before in oils and was thoroughly displeased with it, but the image in my mind still captivated me. So, for this show, I tried it again in acrylics. For compositional purposes, I removed the forest and made the horse rearing up. I like the results enough to consider rewriting the story to fit the image.
