| Dorothy has lived in Arkansas for the majority of her life, spending only three summers in Mississippi. From an early age, she liked to draw horses and often created stories with the pictures or merely filled countless pages of scrap paper. Upon reaching her teens, she began to add shading to her horses and attempted drawing people and other animals. Not until a year or two before she went to college did she begin to feel brave enough to experiment with tinted media, prefering Prismacolor pencils over acrylic paints. During her four years in college, her artistic tallent expanded greatly, adding oil paints and Photoshop to her list of proficient media. Instead of drawing horses, her consentration shifted to people and their many expressions, poses, and clothing styles. In addition, outside of class work, she discovered the usefulness of borders and developed a love for high contrast. Currently, Dorothy enjoys drawing illustrations of text, portraits of characters, and horses. |
